What should I wear for my headshot session?
Simple, well-fitted clothing usually works best. Solid colors and clean styling tend to photograph better than busy patterns or large logos. Once your session is booked, we can discuss wardrobe options based on the look and impression you want to create.
Do you help with posing and expression coaching?
Absolutely. Expression, posture, angles, and body language all make a difference. I’ll guide you through the process to help create confident, approachable, and professional images.
What if I’m not sure what kind of look I want?
That’s completely fine. Before the session, we’ll talk through how the images will be used and the type of impression you want to create so we can plan the right approach together.
How quickly will I receive my images?
Most proof galleries are delivered within 1–3 days depending on the project. Final retouched images are typically completed shortly after your selections are made.
Do you retouch the images?
Yes, I personally retouch your selected headshots. The extent of retouching is entirely up to you. Some clients prefer light cleanup, while others prefer a more polished look. My goal is to help you look your best while still looking like yourself. Standard retouching typically includes blemish removal, skin refinement, color consistency, and other subtle enhancements. If you're looking for something more extensive, we can discuss that before the final images are completed.
Can I review the images during the session?
Yes. Live image review is available during most sessions so we can evaluate expressions, angles, and overall direction together as we shoot.
What background options are available?
Sessions can be photographed on simple studio backgrounds, environmental locations, office settings, or outdoors depending on the style and purpose of the images.
Can you match existing company headshots?
Yes. For teams and organizations, I can maintain consistency in lighting, background, framing, and overall presentation for future hires and updated staff images.

How do I choose the right headshot photographer?
There are a lot of talented photographers out there, so I'd start by looking at their work. If you like their style, the next step is simply having a conversation.
It really comes down to whether we're a good fit. That's why I'm always happy to talk on the phone, meet on Zoom, or even get together in person before scheduling a session. The best results happen when there's good communication and a clear understanding of the look you're trying to achieve.

I work with clients throughout the Chicagoland area, including Oak Brook, Deerfield, Naperville, Schaumburg, and surrounding suburbs, as well as Champaign-Urbana and communities throughout Central Illinois. I also work in the Indianapolis area, including Carmel and Fishers. I've photographed assignments locally, throughout the United States, and abroad.
